Welcome to the Sow A Seed Youth Organization (S.A.S.Y.O). We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
organization dedicated to helping our youth in Detroit. Our organization was founded by Board
Chairman, Mr. Charles M. Gwynn and is lead by Executive Director, Pastor Elaine
Benford-Gwynn of Joy of Life Christian Ministries.
Our goal for this year is to purchase a building and create a state of the art 'fun' learning center, in
which youth will be able to focus on education and have entertainment, we like to call it
"edutainment", which is a combination of education and entertainment combined. Additionally, we
want to continue to help empower and encourage families and children through these troubled
times; by showing them that there are others who understand and support what Detroit is going
through.
This year the SASYO will focus on youth activities such sports camps, field trips, fashion shows,
and Arts and Crafts. Our long term goal is to fully engage the Sow A Seed Outreach Organization
which is our IL branch, into the planning and preparation of near future sports camps.
